We’re here, November, that month moustaches are deemed an acceptable form of facial hair, the month the weather makes a pleasant turn and the month that marks the end of exams for uni students or the end of school forever for some others. In general though, studies find November is the month some of us feel most anxious as we realise the end of the year is in sight and there is a long list of items we’re yet to achieve. This anxiety can provoke the need for change in a lot of people and November tends to be the time of the year when people feel they need to make their most drastic changes. Whether it’s a new job or role at work, new house, new city or something as simple (but significant) as a new hair do - we are chatting all thing changes this month.
Focusing on change, we’re looking at how to overcome stress brought about by change, dealing with organisation of change and tips on mindfulness - whether you need to become or stay mindful.
We’re excited this month to launch our new Brand of the Month segment, featuring brands we love from around the world doing new, innovative and sustainable things with their collections. This month we feature French mother/daughter label Maison Cleo.
In theme with the upcoming Clockenflap Festival in Hong Kong, our feature band this month is Massive Attack - a band that have seen immense change in the way the music industry is run and produced over their almost 30 years together. We also have some festival outfit inspiration lined up for you to get you in the festival spirit.
Keep and eye out for our city slickers this month to feature this month, giving us some great advice on dealing with change and mindfulness in the city.
What’s better for change than a new wardrobe or cleansing out of an old one - that’s right we have the Rug Lane Markets Vol 4 on November 11 in Soho and we can’t wait to see some of you there. Open to anyone, we have plenty of vintage and secondhand goods to sort you out and have a drink with us while you shop too. Come support our friend Tori Mainey on the day as she is giving all proceeds from her stall to local charity Mother Choice.
So yeah, sit down, write that last minute to do list, think about proactive goals, proactive mind and proactive body. 2018 is right around the corner and we’re ready to kick the end of this years butt!
