With summer in full swing, an odd typhoon and all, we thought it was about time we bring you a fresh batch of warm-weather outfits. From junk days to cocktails in Soho, we have you covered - literally.
FOR EVERY SCENE & EVERY SCENARIO
Summer time in Hong Kong is hot as hell, and worst of all that humidity is on 24/7 - there is no escape! I’ve always overheated easily so when I moved from the freezing UK to the melting heat of Hong Kong, I knew I was in for a real treat. But coming off the heels of my 8th anniversary with this city, I’m wiser and more prepared to deal with whatever temperature, gust of wind, or humidity level comes my way.
So what’s my secret to avoiding these embarrassing bouts of extreme heat? Go for bright and light colours to reflect the suns rays and less is always best. It’s also all about the breathable fabrics. That’s right, your silk shirt has no place for summer’s scorching months. Instead, reach for items made from cotton, linen, and chambray to keep yourself as cool as possible.

Match your swimsuit to the bright sun and go yellow. Pair with Kurt Cobain style glasses and a head scarf à la Lucy Williams.
Top Tip - Stay away from white swimwear Hong Kong's polluted water will turn it murky brown (gross).
Sunglasses - ASOS
Junks tend to start early (too early in my opinion)- so there is no time to faff around in the morning choosing an outfit. Throw on a breezy dress over your swimming gear, slide on some flip flops and bring a big bag to fit all your junking essentials. Don't forget to top your look off with a big floppy hat for sun protection.
Dress – Reformation
Flip Flops – Havaianas
Bag – ASOS BRUNCHING
Try this flattering, comfy dress from Realisation Par with a print you can wear all season long. Match it with sandals, a playful clutch and sunglasses to hide those hungover eyes and you're ready to go!
OUT AND ABOUT
Whether you are walking around the markets or taking a guest up the Peak it's best to be comfortable. Swap the dark tee for a white one to reflect the sun and pair with these fun patterned trousers from Monki.
Top tip - Wear something respectful that covers your knees, shoulders and chest in case you make an impromptu visit to a temple.
NIGHT OUT ON THE TILES
Inspired yet again by another Realisation Par look, seeing as it is this years 'go to brand'. Go for a 90's style cocktail dress that bares lots of skin. The ASOS version may not be the same perfect fit but it is a fraction of the price. Swap the boots for something less sweaty with these modest strappy heels.
Top Tip - Do not go too high with the heels it is really not worth it on those steep slopes.
