Our Book of the Month this March isn’t exactly a book …. guest edited by Emma Watson, the pages of Vogue Australia's March 2018 issue are dedicated to sustainability, equality and the inspiring people striving for positive change in the world.
“Our March issue always focuses on the new season’s fashion, but this March feels like the right time to talk about more meaningful change than simply the shape and hemlines of our clothes. This issue is an opportunity for Vogue to highlight all the positive work and impact that so many extraordinary trailblazers are already having on our environment - changing our thinking and behaviours in the process,” Vogue editor-in-chief Edwina McCann says of the issue.
With an eye-catching beautiful cover shot staring guest editor Emma Watson, photographed by the iconic Peter Lindbergh and styled by Hannes Hetta, it will be hard not to miss this issue on the shelves. Watson who can now add Magazine Editor to her impressive resume, writes about her guest editorship, “After a year dominated by an alarming newsfeed, it seems we have hit a turning point in 2018. Silenced voices are becoming amplified and media outlets are shining a spotlight on the people and groups challenging for change.” Watson goes on to write “I would like to challenge you, after reading this issue, to make a one-degree shift, because a small change can make a huge difference.” Watson has long been a advocate of sustainable fashion. For her recent Beauty and the Beast and The Circle press tours, she only wore outfits that had been approved by a sustainability consulting group, Eco-Age, and documented it on her Instragram.
The issue, also features pieces on eco-fashion pioneer Stella McCartney, model Maye Musk, and activist Malala Yousafzai. Tap the link here to read Watson’s entire guest editor’s letter and see the full cover shoot. The issue went on sale Monday, February 26th so available for purchase now!
